A no nonsense officer who believes that crime prevention should not only be a police matter, but should also involve every member of the community. It’s this entrenched belief in him that after graduating from the Police Academy in 2007, he immediately founded this non-profit organization of volunteers, known as, GLOBAL MARSHALS AGAINST CRIME, AND POLICE AUXILIARY ORGANIZATION (GMACPAO)

During the Zamboanga Siege in 2013, then serving with the PNP’s elite Special Action Force (SAF), he had to lead his men into battle with a heavy heart after getting word that his cousin and fellow SAF trooper Lawin Salisa got killed in action. The men who served with Tait during those long, dark days of the siege would attest they would not have made it through if not for the leadership of the man they were following.

Every now and then, we hear pronouncements from the PNP leadership pointing out the exemplary virtues of the Igorot law enforcers.

Ask PLTCOL. ELIAS L.TAIT why the PNP has always held them in such high regard, and the newly promoted PLTCOL will tell you, the Igorot upbringing without a doubt plays a major factor in this. —When a child, through the concept of “Inayan” is being taught accountability; how to be good always to your neighbors, and to never do harm to your fellowmen, because an “Unseen Being” is always watching, and always ready to punish those who go astray.
