Alexander L. Bangsoy, an Igorot from Mountain Province, was a finalist of the prestigious Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2013.

Having come from an entrepreneurial family, Alexander Lumpias Bangsoy, son of an Igorot house-helper from Besao, Mountain Province, worked as a sidewalk vendor at a young age helping out in the family business.
His family handled a sari-sari store, traded knitting yarns and knitted wares. They recycled the refuse of hosiery factories in Pasig in the 70s and Alexander helped sell these at Baclaran.
When he was 11 years old, Bangsoy opened his comic book rental venture in their neighborhood where he learned the crucial factors of inventory tracking and turn-over.
In 1983, Bangsoy’s family was forced to return home to Baguio City when they were ejected from their rented home at La Felonila, Quezon City with all their belongings thrown out on the street in full view of their neighbors.
This fueled Bangsoy to become a lawyer and entered the Ateneo College of Law and later on, build homes for Filipinos like him.
To support his education, Bangsoy’s father worked as an OFW cook at Dammam, Saudi Arabia while his mother traded vegetables and knitted wares.
While studying at the Ateneo Law School, Alexander sold knitted cardigans to his classmates, friends, and in Manila trade fairs.
During vacation, he sold knitted wares in their market stall and along Baguio’s sidewalks.
In law practice, he dabbled in property junkyard deals of legally distressed properties which led him to enroll at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) for a Master in Entrepreneurship (ME) and graduated in 2007.
He established Goshen Land Capital Inc. also in 2007 which introduced master-planned student condominiums, investment lots, and other real estate properties.

Starting as a real estate lawyer, and later on, developing a now successful real-estate business, Bangsoy has gone a long way from his childhood dream.
Atty Bangsoy started his own company, Goshen Land Capital Inc., and has been building condominiums and subdivisions in the city of Baguio since then.
Goshen Land Capital Incorporated is a real estate developer based in Baguio City, Philippines. It develops innovative master-planned communities of low to mid-rise residential and commercial condominiums and offers lots and houses with a budget fit, flexible payment terms.
His keen sense of business and real estate expertise gave him a good start and a definite edge in putting up Goshen Land.
Learning from his own experience as a struggling ordinary Filipino before, Bangsoy made sure that his properties are affordable and buyers have enough time to pay their mortgage.
His company has now expanded to other provinces such as Cagayan, Pangasinan, and Pampanga.
As the Chairman of the board and CEO of Goshen Land Capital, Inc., Atty. Bangsoy is responsible for setting the direction of the company, overseeing the operations of the organization, and carrying out the strategic plans and policies of Goshen Land.
Atty. Bangsoy continues to lead Goshen Land while he trains its human resource. He adopts the learning-by-doing model within the company’s values-based culture which produces competent leaders within the organization.
Not only did Bangsoy focused on building and expanding his company, but he also offers free entrepreneurial training and seminars to share his knowledge and expertise in business and law.
Awards
His values-based company earned him a nomination from the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) as an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 and later became one of the top 12 Finalists nationwide.
In recognition of Atty. Bangsoy’s outstanding contribution to the community as an entrepreneur, he was appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors of John Hay Management Corporation.
His appointment as a member of the Board of Directors of JHMC is a recognition of his outstanding contribution to the community as an entrepreneur.
Locally, Atty. Bangsoy was nominated as an Outstanding Citizen of Baguio 2013, recognized as Saint Louis Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year 2013, and Developer of the Year (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) by the Baguio Midland Courier.
