Fil-Kiwi-Aussie beauty, Maynah Josephine Lourellen Borja Erece will graduate with two degrees from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia in December. She graduates with a Bachelor of Science major in Psychology (Upper Second Class Honours, Division A) and a Bachelor of Arts major in Creative and Critical Writing (Upper Second Class Honours, Division A) making her one of the few Filipinos to graduate with a double degree with Division A, class honours in both degrees in just three years.
Maynah taught herself to read at 3 years old, choreographed dance routines at 4 years old. An academic accelerant, she started university papers at 13 years old while in high school. She was given the notable achievement award for the Jordan Electorate in Queensland upon completion of secondary school and was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship, a full ride, academic scholarship from the University of Southern Queensland. It took Maynah only three years to complete both degrees. In 2019, she was a presenter a the Conference for the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children at Vanderbilt University in Nashville where Maynah shared her story and her views on the challenges of twice gifted and talented students in front of stunned education experts gathered from around the world titled : “Yes, Dad. I can hear you! I’m choosing to ignore you.”
An artist at heart, Maynah trained in classical ballet from Trinity College, London since she was 3 years old and holds a Certificate in Commercial dance from Dance College London. She studied with Queensland Ballet under Li Cunxin (Mao’s Last Dancer) and has performed in multiple stage productions and Hollywood bit roles. When not dancing or producing, she choreographs stage performances and organizes stage productions and multicultural festivals.
Maynah is no stranger to breaking world records, she is the younger sister of Atty. Jozef Borja Erece, the youngest licensed lawyer in the world history. Both Borja- Erece siblings are classified as profoundly gifted and extremely talented with genius level IQ. The Borja and Erece family is deeply rooted in Baguio City and Northern Luzon. It is to be mentioned that the siblings maternal grandmother is the late Maria Lourdes Soberano Borja from the Soberanos of Pangasinan and their paternal grandmother, Eleanor Minano Erece, is from the Minano clan of Romblon.
