Ronald P. Alban, a Grade 10 student of Pines City National High School (PCNHS) has returned the lost cash he found to the rightful owner.

According to him, he saw a small plastic zip-lock containing cash amounting to P13,236 without information or identification of the owner. Alban did the right thing and took the money to Barangay GEFA Lower QM where he lives and asked for help from barangay officials to find the owner of the money.

The barangay officials managed to find the owner and returned the cash.

Ronald P. Alban, an honest Grade 10 student was commended by the city government of Baguio for returning the P13,236 cash he found.

At a flag-raising ceremony on April 4, 2022, the Baguio City government led by Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan awarded a Certificate of Commendation to Mr. Alban for his honesty, uprightness, and integrity.

The large amount of money had no proof of ownership, but he still chose to do the right thing. Alban’s honesty and good citizenship of Baguio City truly reflect the “Inayan” culture of the Igorot people that prompted him to hand over the large amount of money.
