It was a year of many blessings for me as a dad and it couldn’t have ended any better. Our beautiful daughter, Maynah, has turned twenty-one and to top it off, it was her graduation year from university studies. Always a highflyer, she was even smarter to maximise her scholarship by graduating with two degrees, a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science with Distinction (one of the university’s highest graduation honours) instead of one. How she got to this point is a story for another time.
After earning his second Law Masters from the University of Cambridge, I thought wrongly that there wasn’t anything our son, Jozef could do that would surprise me anymore. What a mistake that was! At the end of the year, he successfully passed three international Bar exams- the Bar of England and Wales in the first quarter of 2022, went to New York and passed the New York Bar exams in July 2022 and capped it off by passing the Queensland Bar around his 26th Birthday in October 2022. Three International Bar exam passes in less than a year! How he achieved this is a story that the entire world would want to know but that too, is for another time.
Today, I would fondly remember 2022 as a year of many blessings for my family. I look at our scheduled events already piling up for 2023 and it’s looking like it’s another busy year.
I pray that 2023 will be filled with many blessings for all of us. Happy New Year from my family to yours.
