Cordilleran Marawi war hero from Bokod, Benguet is among the 2022 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipino Police Officers.

Police Colonel Lambert Alban Suerte who is a native of Bokod, Benguet was awarded as one of the Ten Outstanding Filipinos by the Metrobank Foundation for his excellence in his profession and for proving that ordinary Filipinos can become outstanding.
“His resolve and expertise as a commander have been tested in several armed encounters with enemy forces. Foremost among these is leading his men to victory and safety during the Marawi City siege in 2017,” Metrobank Foundation wrote in a post.
“Throughout his service, his efforts were vital in the liberation of stakeholders groups from security threats,” it added.
PCOL Suerte is currently assigned as the Battalion Commander of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO). A member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1998, Suerte is one of the heroes of the Marawi siege from the elite ranks of the PNP Special Action Force.

Each awardee will be granted a cash prize of PHP 1 million each (net of tax), a golden medallion, and “The Flame” trophy during the conferment ceremonies in September as part of Metrobank’s 60th-anniversary celebration.
