Hard times don’t create heroes. It is during the hard times when the ‘hero’ within us is revealed. – Bob Riley
No, he’s not Captain Barbel or the billionaire Tony Stark.
He is Jemmer Tasing Tagure (Crisologo Tagure on Facebook), an Igorot seafarer from a humble bario called Kabayan Barrio in Kabayan, Benguet.
Last April, Jemmer Tasing Tagure received praise from netizens after he provided P50,000 worth of rice to his hometown.

Jemmer said he only wants to share the blessings he receives in life with his countrymen, especially during this coronavirus pandemic.
Although he isn’t that wealthy and only working as a seafarer and a farmer, he still wanted to provide assistance to the poor and needy, even in simple ways.
Another P50K for Barangay Adaoay, Kabayan, Benguet Facebook
This time, the Igorot is once again sharing his blessings to the people of Barangay Adaoay in Kabayan.
“As farmboy/sailor, I know what it feels like of having less and nothing. I don’t have so much to give but, I’m willing to share whatever I have. We are all affected by this crisis, some may have less and some have nothing. Share whatever we have,” Jemmar said on a Facebook post.
Jemmar has now contributed a total of P100,000 worth of rice to the people of Kabayan, Benguet.
Actions like these might seem a little trivial to some. But hey, it’s not really the amount that counts but the selflessness and compassion for other people.
To put it simply, it’s not the size that matters but the passion behind your every move.
God Bless you, Igorot seafarer! May He guide you on your journey.
