According to OWWA, nearly 4,600 Cordilleran OFWs have returned home
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) – Cordillera continues to assist overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who wish to return to the country in conjunction with the pandemic.
According to OWWA, as many as 4,592 OFWs have returned to the Cordillera Administrative Region since May.
Based on the OWWA – Cordillera records, Baguio City recorded 1,751 returning OFWs, Benguet 1,033, Abra 683, Ifugao 371, Kalinga 349, Mountain Province 213 and Apayao 192 for a total of 4,592.
The agency said that out of the said number, 46 have tested positive for COVID-19, of which 45 have recovered while one is still recovering.
OWWA distributes financial assistance to qualified OFWs through Abot Kamay Ang Pagtulong o Akap.
