PCPT John Paul Balliyao Agod, Igorot from Kalinga, tops Special Action Force (SAF) Basic Airborne Course.

PCPT John Paul Balliyao Agod, a proud Igorot from Kalinga, is the class Topnotcher of the Philippine National Police – Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) Basic Airborne Course (BAC).
The course usually lasts 45-60 days but due to some delays, it was extended several times.
According to PCPT Agod, they started their SAF Basic Airborne Course and SAF Parachute Packing Course on September 25, 2020, but due to inevitable and unforeseen factors such as the number of typhoons and the COVID-19 pandemic, the training got extended several times and they finally made it until April 21, 2021.
PCPT Agod, a graduate of PNPA Class 2016, said there were initially 97 trainees but for some reason, only eighty-six (86); eight (8) Commissioned officers, and seventy-eight (78) non-commissioned officers ultimately earned it.

The very important disciplined that should be learned in the training are Mental Alertness and Presence of Mind wherein, in every operation, you should decide as quickly as you can depending on the situation and without causing any prejudice to your fellow operators. ), Agod said.
The Graduation Ceremony of eighty-six new graduates of the SAF Basic Airborne Course and SAF Parachute Packing Course was held at the Special Action Force Headquarters, Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig.
Graduates were awarded the Parachutist Badge.
