The Dutchman who Choose to Live as an Igorot | Igorotage

Johanne “Brother James” Schorsch is an adopted son of Bontoc, Mountain Province with an Igorot name “FANGYACHEW” or “Fanjacho”. Brother James relinquished everything, including his Dutch citizenship, and decided to live as an Igorot wearing only his “bahag” wherever he reaches. Fangyachew spent more than 30 years of his existence helping anyone in and out of the Cordilleras. He can converse with local dialects like Kankana-ey and Ilocano fluently. According to sources, the Dutch-Igorot presently resides in the province of Aurora.
